Dear Partners and Friends in Christ,
We thank God for the recent direction we have received from the Lord concerning our next step of obedience in the Great Co-Mission. After my recent ministry trip to Ecuador with Brother Tom, God made it clear to Susy and I that we are to return to Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries with the Gospel.
Susy will be flying out on January 10th and I will follow on January 19th, and we will return together on February 10th. Susy will be in Bangkok until I arrive, then we will travel to Hua Hin, which is several hours to the south. Our son, David Thomas, will be staying in Ohio to take care of daily operations there.
We first began reaching out to Southeast Asia with the Gospel over 20 years ago in 1989, when I traveled to Bangkok to join up with Brother Dick Hochreiter in order to fly into Vietnam and to minister with and encourage the underground Church in that country.
It was during our time in Bangkok that I met Susy. We were out passing out tracts in the Thai language and gave one to her and shared the Gospel with her. That night at her home, she prayed to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior. The next morning we took her to a local Church where we all had Communion together and she told us that she received Jesus.
After eight days, I asked her to marry me and she said yes. We were engaged and started the immigration process for her to come to the States for us to be married. On November 18, 1989 in Palm Springs, we became husband and wife. We just celebrated our 21st Anniversary.
God blessed us with a son, David Thomas, who is a great blessing in our lives in every way. On January 1, 1990, in Akron, Ohio, we established DenSu Ministries to continue taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those around the world who have not yet heard.
Shortly thereafter, Susy wrote her testimony and we published it as a tract entitled, “How I Found True Happiness”. We started traveling back to Thailand and distributed 180,000 copies during 3 different trips with the help of other believers from the States.
We then sold our home in Ohio and moved to Bangkok and started an evangelistic outreach and discipleship ministry in Bangkok. During the next several years, we printed and distributed several million copies of tracts which we wrote and published in the Thai language.
We were blessed to see and hear about much fruit with many Thai people coming to Christ all over the nation of Thailand. We had the privilege of leading many to Christ ourselves and helping them grow in the Lord and get established in their new lives and faith in Christ.
We then returned to the States, leaving the Thai literature ministry in the hands of Susy’s family, with us returning from time to time, with it continuing for many more years.
In 1990 we wrote and published our 84 page book, “True Happiness Can Be Yours”, which we have provided free of charge around the world in 26 languages with almost 800,000 copies in print. We also developed our World Wide Internet Outreach ministry through our evangelistic website, which continues today reaching many people for Christ.
Our trip back to Thailand in January will be to renew and build upon ministry relationships from the past, and to begin establishing a new International Base of Operations for DenSu Ministries.
The location will be the city of Hua Hin, which has a population of about 85,000 people, with over 3,000 retirees from around the world, as well as it being a popular tourist destination for many.
During this trip we will be preaching, teaching, distributing literature and doing personal evangelism in Hua Hin and Bangkok. We will also be meeting with several ministries with whom we will network with in future ministry to the South of Thailand and neighboring Southeast Asian nations.
We’ll also be seeking out facilities for our International Outreach and Training Center, which will be used to reach, teach and train new believers, and others who desire to serve the Lord in ministry.
The emphasis of the teaching and training will be on personal evangelism, radical discipleship and New Testament style Church planting.
We will be sharing more in depth with you in the coming weeks and months. We welcome your partnership with us as we move forward in Christ.
